Krementschuk, 18th September 2017. For the European diploma in economics that Victoriya is preparing for at the vocational grammar school in Kaiserslautern a four-week work placement abroad is necessary. In the central Ukrainian town of Krementschuk she found an extremely many-sided and interesting work placement with the sweets firm of Suorov. She did not only learn how different sweets are produced there, but also which international commercial terms must be considered. While in the first week she concentrated on the translation of the many sweets for foreign sale, she helped with the execution of clearing formalities in the second week and was allowed to take part in business meetings with international business partners. In the last two weeks, which passed far too quickly, Victoriya was allowed to accompany all colleagues in their respective field of work. In her free time, the very nice host family showed her the nice sights of the town and several times even made it possible for her to try out wake boarding.

Salerno, 10th September 2017. After a totally successful work placement Anna starts her report by saying that she would like to tell others of her nice experiences in Italy. In her work placement at a language school she did not feel treated like “a simple student apprentice”, but like a “real employee”. The work orders she was assigned with were demanding and allowed her far-reaching insights into the tasks of a private language school. In her free time in the afternoon and at the weekend Anna could explore the fascinating landscape of the Amalfi coast: Enthusiastically she writes, “I could hardly believe my luck, time and again I had to stop to observe the surroundings. I always wanted to take photos of everything”. In many conversations with her affectionate host family und numerous other nice people she could use her newly acquired knowledge of Italian. She wishes that others “may also experience what I have experienced”.

Marl. 4th September 2017. “I pack my suitcase …” was the topic of the ecumenical service of this year’s graduates of Albert-Schweitzer-/Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium, which had been prepared with a lot of fun and joy by Julius Schewe, Maria José Kiadivila, Vincent Jansen, Valeria Ruf, Marie Jatzkowski and Jana Milena Kitza together with their teacher Nicole Höltken. According to the wish of the graduates half of the 600.04 Euros collect of the service went to the Elena Bleß Foundation. In the name of the year Julius Schewe, Marie Jatzkowski, Maria José Kiadivila as well as the deputy headmaster Marc Wystup (from left) handed over the generous donation, for which Annette Bleß thanked them very much.

Faicchio, 3rd September 2017. 17-year-old Sophie from Kaiserslautern found her ideal work placement in southern Italian Faicchio. In the office of a brewery / a tent renting agency she gained insight into the Italian world of work, in which less importance is attached to punctuality, but far more to personal, even familiar contact. Thus Sophie could get to know the country from a completely different than the usual perspective of tourists. Moreover, Sophie felt very good in her nice host family, in which she had a lot of fun on trips with the three children in her free time.
