Marseille, 21st December 2018 .An exciting and diversified work placement with the marketing firm MAP in Marseille offered valuable insights to Marjolaine from Hamburg for her further academic and occupational career. In the first week of her work placement her job was researching the latest beauty trends on special websites and afterwards writing articles on them. Her tasks also included filling parcels with perfumes that users of the website had won in a competition, selecting flights and hotels for the winner of a weekend trip to Milan, etc.

In the second week her main job was filling envelopes by hand, sorting and counting them. These envelopes went to cosmetics consultants all over France and contained information on a new perfume. At the end of her report on her work placement Marjolaine asserts that for her this branch of marketing is rather out of the question as an occupational perspective. But: “Work placements are meant to collect experiences and that was what I definitely did.”

Roost-Warendin, 11th October 2018. In her report on her work placement  Clara describes her exciting insight into the diversified everyday life at a French primary school. Due to the frequent change in teaching methods time flew and Clara enjoyed it very much to accompany her pupils, to help them and was glad to almost always understand and be able to answer their numerous questions. Another great experience was working with the pupils in the school vegetable garden with the pupils as well as Clara being allowed to take home the cropped vegetables and fruits.

Boulogne-sur-Mer, 12th September 2018. After a stressful bus ride Anna was rather tired when she arrived at her host family’s home in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Her work placement was at the Collège Haffreingue of her host sister Clémentine, with who she got along excellently and who she was allowed to accompany with her exciting free time activities (girl guide meetings, school of arts, etc.).     With the German teacher Madame Mullier Anna prepared the classes, helped with correcting pupils’ texts and took over several phases of the German lessons. Thus, on the one hand, she could get to know better the job of a German teacher and on the other hand could also improve her knowledge of French, as she gladly asserts at the end of her report on her work placement.

Manchester, 28th August 2018. Demanding and exciting tasks expected Maike at her work placement, a branch office of the Linde Company in England: At the beginning of her work placement she designed the new web page of the company, on which the different products of the trading firm were also presented. In the fol-lowing time she was allowed to accompany her work placement tutor to several customers, to help in the office, or to take deliveries to customers. Maike was also very happy with her host family, as they showed her a lot of very nice and partly hidden places in England. Although her work placement lasted for 5 weeks after all, Maike writes at the end of her report: “The time really passed too quickly and I would do it again any time, as it was a very helpful and great experience.”
